This Labor Day, Monday September 3, if you are not hosting or attending a picnic and are looking for something to do, look into these events about town:
On Monday, the 74th annual GAITHERSBURG LABOR DAY PARADE from 1:00 to 3:00 in Olde Towne. The events include dance and athletic groups, bands, community groups, antiques cars and fire trucks, food and much more. This event is held rain or shine!
On Monday, KENSINGTON is hosting its’ annual festival and parade. There will be food, live entertainment, arts and crafts and other family activities. Being near Antique Row is a bonus!
The annual LABOR DAY ARTS SHOW AT GLEN ECHO PARK, which will run from August 31 through September 3 and will host more than 150 artists whose art include photography, jewelry, ceramics and much more. There will also be an Irish Music & Dance performance on both Saturday and Monday.
Also this weekend is ABBEY ROAD ON THE RIVER at National Harbor. This Beatles tribute starts on Thursday 30 and ends on Monday 3 and will be filled with great music, seminars and memorabilia!
The annual LABOR DAY CONCERT AT THE CAPITOL (West Lawn) will take place on Sunday 2nd. The gate opens at 5:00 pm and the National Symphony Orchestra will begin at 8:00 pm. There is also an open rehearsal beginning at 3:30 that all are welcome to attend.
