Children’s Day: Honey Harvest Festival

Saturday, September 17

11 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Brookside Gardens and Brookside Nature Center, Wheaton

Join Brookside Gardens, Brookside Nature Center and The Maryland State Beekeepers Association to celebrate honeybees and pollinators. Talk to beekeepers, watch honey being harvested, buy local honey and bee products, and enjoy family-friendly activities, live music and crafts. We’ll be buzzing about pollinators all day long!

Monarch Fiesta at Black Hill Visitor Center

Saturday, September 17

11 a.m. – 3 p.m. | Black Hill Visitor Center, Boyds

Celebrate the monarch butterfly’s amazing and inspiring metamorphosis and incredible journey to Mexico. Join us for music, food, dance, hands-on art, native plant sales, and plenty of opportunities to get up close with monarch butterflies. Participate in monarch tagging and learn about their habitats, and what you can do to make a difference.

Bluegrass on the Farm at Agricultural History Farm Park

Saturday, September 17

12 p.m. – 6 p.m. | Agricultural History Farm Park, Derwood

Advance tickets $15 per person or $20 day of the event

Join us for great bluegrass in the great outdoors! Bring your lawn chair and blankets, and instruments if you want to jam. Food will be available to purchase. Featuring Danny Paisley & The Southern Grass, Lovesick Hillbillies, and The Patuxent Partners. Pets are welcome, and kids under 12 are free with an adult.

Apple Festival and Campfire at Meadowside Nature Center

Fall is here and that means apple harvest time at Meadowside Nature Center! Enjoy apple cider pressing, apple lore, hands-on activities, live music, and s’mores around the campfire.
