Another new community has been in development in Montgomery County. Gaithersburg’s new 180-acre Crown Development, located along Sam Eig Highway and Fields Road, across from Washingtonian Center and Rio. The six key locations or neighborhoods making up Crown are the downtown area, serving as the commercial core of the community, residential communities, a residential/mixed use neighborhood, a park with walking and jogging trails and a 32-acre site reserved for a high school.
260,000 square feet of retail space in the downtown includes fine dining, as well fast food and casual restaurants, fashion retailers, boutiques and other services. Harris Teeter, LA Fitness, Wells Fargo Bank, a bridal shop, spa and liquor store are just some of the businesses in Crown.
Some of the restaurants include Coastal Flats – a Carolina inspired seafood restaurant, Asia Nine – a Thai and sushi bar, Roti Mediterranean Grill, La Madeleine, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, La Tagliatella – a high quality Italian restaurant and the famous Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.
Downtown Crown will also have 538 apartments, though the entire community offers single family and town homes, condos and apartments spread out over four neighborhoods. Crown was developed as a vibrant neighborhood that enables a simplified life, by offering neighborhood amenities such as parks, paths, pools, shopping, dining community events.
