Looking for a fun family activity for the weekend? Come celebrate the monarch butterfly’s inspiring metamorphosis and incredible journey at Black Hill Park this Saturday, September 16. There will be exhibits, face painting, story times, crafts, movies, monarch tagging and more! All programs are free and first-come, first-served. No registration required. The event will be held from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
Can’t make it Saturday? There is more fun to be had on Sunday the 17th with “What Lives in a Stream?” Wade into the water and use nets to see what insects, fish, frogs and other animals can be found. Please wear boots or closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting wet (no flip-flops, please!) Intended for ages 2 -12. All children must be accompanied by an adult. The program is from 1:30 to 3:00 and has a small fee of $7. Meet at the gravel Boat Launch parking lot on Black Hill Road.
More information on both programs as well as other upcoming events can be found at www.BlackHillNature.org.
